Earth Day, El Camino Republicans & #epicfail

EARTH DAY - Is it me or... shouldn't it be everyday? You know, in a Teddy Roosevelt type of way? Like... conservation and stuff. Not just extreme left stuff or be grumpy about it like the far right... take back your cans, get the reuse bags... you know, the small stuff... Just a thought... oh, and another... you wanna know some guys who celebrate Earth Day everyday? Talk to a farmer.

EL CAMINO REPUBLICANS - So... we were the first to coin the phrase, "El Camino Republican"... and as wierd as it may seem, the QCI HQ has been getting some emails on what exactly an El Camino Republican is.... Methinks there might be a new feature around the corner... yeah... we may need to bust out a cool graphic for that... this should be fun. Thoughts? Let me know.

LET'S HANDOUT SOME HASHTAGS - So... if you are in to Twitter or follow it... you've seen this #... a hastag on a word. Basically, its the Twitter Community's way of archiving for searches and stuff... Waukee and Facebook Fan Page... you hear about this? For real? Wow.... so here's a couple of hashtag shout outs for this entire situation....

Isaiah McGee, the dude started a fan page for citizens to communicate... and God forbit, show some love to their town... great idea for one of the fastest growing communities in Iowa... #goodjoboutofyou

Waukee City Council... they voted to get rid of it... actually have the page deleted... really? Seriously? #epicfail

I could probably go on and on... with more hashtags for this... but sadly, there may be some on the Waukee City Council who might think I'm speaking Swedish or something.

Tea Party and Some QCI Humor

Holy crap! I cannot. stop. laughing. at. this. So... you all know or were at a Tea Party last week. Great turnouts... ect. ect. ect. There were chants... and their were signs... thanks to the cool cats at Rizzo Tees... here's some "unique signs" from the Seattle Tea Party.

POWDER BLUE POWER - In case you didn't know, the Kansas City Royals are in 1st Place!!!! OH HELL YES! The boys in in powder blue are raising some eye brows... how cool whas Greinke in the 9th on Saturday Night! Two down in the 9th... a runner who just made it to 3rd... I think it was Jillman who came out to the mound... Greinke's like, "I got this one... I got it." Sure nuff... strike out and a complete game shut out. Woot! The good guys are in Cleveland today... let's see what happens...

JEWELL GETS SOME PROPS - So... I don't know if you remember me writing about my Pops getting Hot Rod Magazine to make a quick pit stop in Jewell for their 2008 Power Tour.... remember? Anyhow... the folks at Main Street Iowa, game him and the Jewell Area Development Enterprise an award for the best cross promtional event. Wnet to the award ceremony... pretty cool deal... and even cooler for my Pops and everyone who organized it. It was a successfule event on its own... but I know they feel even better when someone else noticed it. Good job out of you!

ISSUES, TAKES & POLITICS - So yeah... I guess I haven't talked much on issues here lately... we've gone over this before... I just figure, everyone else is chirping... no need for takes from me... I'll just handle the junior high humor... BTW, it was 4-20 yesterday... (snicker)... You want my take for today? I wish the legislature would just go home... for real... get out of here... skat... get it, you all don't have votes where you think you do... just cut your losses and call 'er close... leave so that damage can be kept to a minimum... for real yo. So... you may not get me talking about the issue of the day... just don't want to dead horse it... ya know? Wait... did I use that right? See? Told you...

"GASP!!??!!??!! G$ is posting 2 days in a friggin row? What. Is. Going. On!" Yeah yeah... I agree with you a hundred percent. I mean... I'm more like, what the hell are you doing checking this site 2 days in a row, right? Have a few random thoughts that are eating my by brian like... like Pacman.... minus the ghost monsters. Here's some randomnous.

20% MORE IS GOOD - So... grabbed a bag of Chili Cheese Fritos at the store last night... you know... because that's how I roll. And noticed they give you 20% more chips. That's 20% more goodness. Good job out of YOU, Frito Lay.

HACKS... ALL GROWING UP? Whah? You ask? So yeah... a new cycle begins... and a whole group of hacks have moved on to bigger and better things. Are they growing up? What the hell? Yes they are... so, this brings the question... who will the new young guns be? There's some good prospects out there... and I'm sure every campaign will get its fair share of green college types... you know... mistakes will happen (not a bash... just saying, we'VE all been there)... so... any nominees QCI-ders? But keep 'er on the down low... no need to enflate their heads before they even get to swing a bat... we've seen that before.

Here's a few quick hits on New Kids On The Block in Des Moines yesterday...

- Nope, didn't go... but I don't think I've ever seen so many 30 something women, chugging Boone's Farm, tailgating with their mini vans and SUVs in the Event Center parking lot.

- Thousands of kids in Central Iowa had pizza last night.... because area Dads were in charge of dinner.

- Sources close to QCI say that woman to man ratio was 50-1... and most of the dudes were holding purses saying only 2 words... over and over, "Yes dear."

- It was reported that Wells Fargo Arena was a significant Cougar Event by the National Authorities.

- Last night, the boys over at at www.urbancougar.com reached defcon 1 levels at some points .

- QCI sources saw a homemade t-shirt that read, "Donnie, I'm Legal Now."

- Just about every girl in my high school class was there...

So yea... even though the New Kids... aren't exactly "new"... methinks these guys have a good racket going now...
